Taco SR501, SR504 and DPDT Relay

Utilizing Circulators

Option 1      Option 2   Option 3

Taco SR504 and two DPDT Relays

Utilizing Circulators

Same As Above

I like to use RIB relays which stands for Relay -In-A-Box. The drawings below show both SPST, SPDT and DPDT relays. The normally closed relay wire would just be capped off on the drawings showing SPST relays. The part number for the RIB relay is RIBU1S or the SPDT relay (cheaper one) is RIBU1C

You could also use the honeywell R4225A1008. Both relays are 120v coil relays.

Taco SR-503 when boiler and indirect circulators are required to  run at the same time

Taco SR504-EXP and a SPST Relay

Controlling Boiler and Optional System Circulators

End switch gets wired to the thermostat connections on the boiler

Boiler pump must run when the indirect calls

This would be used with or without system circulators and Pump(S) must run on a call for heat or DHW.

The relays are good for 5 amps.

Option 1   Option 2   Option 3

Taco ZVC-406 and Zone Valves and SPST Relay

Controlling Boiler and System Pumps

System pump shuts down and the Indirect pump is controlled by the boiler

Option 1   Option 2    Option 3

Taco ZVC-403

Two system zone valves and a pump on the indirect

System pump shuts down on a call for hot water

Taco ZVC406, Zone Valves

Both System Pump and Boiler Pump Run On Any Call

Indirect Pump Controlled by boiler

Taco ZVC-406, Zone Valves, SPST Relay

Controlling System, Boiler and DHW Pumps

System pump stops on call for DHW

Indirect Pump "Not" Wired to Boiler
