Burnham ES2/Series3/ESC & MPO-IQ Option Card Installation Manuals
Low water cut-off External Limit Outdoor Reset
Tips for installation Tips for installation Tips for installation
These cards are easily plugged into the US Boiler OCP panel and will improve system efficiency and easily meet some state required Low Water Cut Offs code requirements.
When installing the ES2, Series 3, ESC gas boilers or MPO-IQ oil boilers in commercial installations CSD-1 controls are required. CSD-1 requirements must include manual reset low water cut-off and manual reset external high limit controls. These two controls are sold as automatic reset or as manual reset and are CSD-1 certified.
In case of a card failure the cards are very easily bypassed. Follow the three easy steps.
1. Remove the card from the OCP panel
2. Press & release the "I" button on the OCP panel until the letters "LRN" appear
3. Depress and hold either the up or down arrow buttons until the control clicks and OCP appears. This removes the card from memory and the IQ control operates as if the card was never installed.
When the new card is installed the IQ control will automatically recognize the new card and install it. Any parameter changes you made to the old card must be re-entered. The parameters are stored in the cards and will not be updated to the new card.

Troubleshooting the Option Cards
Troubleshooting the option cards is a pretty simple process as they troubleshoot themselves. The cards will give you error codes as well as the OCP (Optional Control Panel). When there is an error on one of the option cards the OCP display will show an error. You will need to display the proper card by depressing the "I" button on the OCP to see the card error. Below is a chart which shows the error codes the panel will display. The first 3 codes have two digits. The first digit is the error code and the second digit is the card location.
